At FocusHacker (“we,” “our,” or “us”), we believe that your private productivity data should stay exactly that: private. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit our website (focushacker.app) and use the FocusHacker mobile application (the “App”).
1. Personal Data Collection — App Usage vs. Waitlist & Beta
App Usage: You do not need to create an account, register, or provide any personal information (such as your name, email address, or phone number) to use the App. We do not collect, harvest, or store any personal data from your app activity.
Waitlist & Beta Program: To join our waitlist or beta testing program, we collect limited personal information, including your email address and any other information you voluntarily provide during signup. This information is used solely to communicate with you about FocusHacker updates, beta access, and program participation. You may opt out of these communications at any time by contacting us at focushackerapp@gmail.com.
2. 100% Local Data Storage
All data you generate within the App—including your focus sessions, timers, tasks, history, and custom settings—is stored exclusively on your own device.
- We do not operate external servers to collect this data.
- We cannot access, view, modify, or delete your data because we never see it.
- If you delete the App from your device, your local data will be permanently removed unless backed up via your personal iCloud settings.
3. Third-Party Services & Processing
While we do not collect your app usage data, we utilize trusted third-party platforms to distribute the App and handle basic operations:
Apple App Store: The App is distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store. Any purchases, subscriptions, or financial transactions are handled securely by Apple under their standard terms and privacy policy. We never receive or store your credit card or financial billing details.
Performance & Error Tracking: We may implement basic crash reporting and performance monitoring tools in the future to ensure the App runs smoothly. If implemented, these tools will only collect anonymous, aggregated technical data (such as device type, iOS version, and crash logs) that cannot be used to identify you personally.
Waitlist & Beta Management: We may use third-party email service providers to manage and communicate with waitlist and beta participants. These services handle your email address and communications in accordance with standard data protection practices.
Website Analytics: We use Vercel Web Analytics on our marketing website (focushacker.app) to understand how visitors use the site. This service collects anonymous, aggregated data such as page views, referrer URLs, device and browser type, and approximate geographic location. It does not use cookies to identify you personally and does not track you across other websites. Data is processed by Vercel in accordance with their privacy policy.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our marketing website (focushacker.app) uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) to measure page views and general site usage. This helps us understand which pages are visited and how people find the site. We do not use advertising pixels, cross-site tracking, or behavioral profiling on the website.
The FocusHacker App itself does not use cookies or web tracking technologies. All app data remains stored locally on your device as described in Section 2.
5. Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). Our App does not require registration or account creation, so children can use the core app features without providing personal data. For waitlist or beta signups, we request that participants be at least 13 years old.
